Maintenance/replacement
Before performing maintenance/replacement
f When you perform maintenance or replacement of the parts, make sure to turn o󰀨 the power and disconnect the
power plug from the wall outlet.
f Be sure to observe the procedure “Powering o󰀨 the projector” (x page 42) when performing power supply
operation.
Maintenance
Outer Case
Wipe o󰀨 dirt and dust using a soft dry cloth.
f If the dirt is persistent, soak the cloth with water and wring it thoroughly before wiping. Dry o󰀨 the projector with
a dry cloth.
f Do not use benzene, thinner, or rubbing alcohol, other solvents, household cleaners. Using them may cause
deterioration of the outer case.
f When using chemical treated dusters, follow its instruction.
Lens front surface
Wipe the dirt and dust o󰀨 the front surface of the lens with soft clean cloth.
f Do not use a cloth that has an abrasive surface or a cloth that is moist, oily, or covered with dust.
f Do not use excessive force when wiping the lens as it is fragile.
f Do not use benzene, thinner or rubbing alcohol, other solvents or household cleaners. Using them may cause
deterioration of the lens.
Attention
f The lens may be damaged if you hit with a hard object or wipe with excessive force. Please handle with care.
DO NOT WIPE THE LENS DURING OPERATION.
Cleaning the lens during operation may cause foreign objects adhering to the lens or
bring damage to the lens surface.
Air lter unit
In the following cases, remove the air lter unit and check the clogging condition of the air lter. If the air lter is
clogged, clean the air lter unit.
f If the time which is set in [PROJECTOR SETUP] menu → [FILTER COUNTER] → [TIMER] is reached, the
message of “FILTER COUNTER has reached the set time.” that prompts to perform maintenance of the air lter
unit is displayed on the projection screen.
f The warning indicator <WARNING> lights in red in the projection state.
f The warning indicator <WARNING> blinks in red

in the standby state.
*1 The indicator ashes in the cycle: 2.0 seconds (light) → 2.0 seconds (o󰀨)
Attention
f Make sure to turn o󰀨 the power before performing maintenance on the air lter unit.
f Make sure that the projector is stable, and perform the maintenance in a safe place even if the air lter unit falls accidentally.
