Sound field and sound quality (continued)
To adjust speaker level during play
(Effective when playing multi-channel audio or when Dolby Pro
Logic II, Super Surround or Surround Enhancer is turned on.)
1 Press [SOUND] to select “CH SEL.” and press [q] to
make selection:
SW: Subwoofer
You can adjust SW (Subwoofer) only if the disc includes a
subwoofer channel.
“SW” does not appear on the display and is not adjustable
when Dolby Pro Logic II is turned on.
“S” appears on the display when “MUSIC” or “MOVIE” is
selected with Super Surround ( page 31) or Surround
Enhancer ( page 31). In this case, you can adjust both
surround speaker levels using [u, 2/REW], [i, 1/FF].
S: –6dB to +6dB
2 Press [i, 1/FF] (increase) or [u, 2/REW] (decrease)
to adjust the speaker level for each speaker.
C, RS, LS, SW: –6dB to +6dB
(L, R: Only the balance is adjustable.)
To adjust the balance of the front speakers
While “L” or “R” is selected, press [u, 2/REW],
[i, 1/FF].

Adjusting the subwoofer
Press [SOUND] to select “SUBW LVL” and press [q] to
make selection:
Pressing [SUBWOOFER] on the main unit also changes the
setting.
Using the Center Focus
This applies to discs where the dialog is recorded in the center
channel.
You can make the sound of the center speaker seem like it is
coming from within the television.
Press [SOUND] to select “C.FOCUS” and press [q] to make
selection: C. FOCUS ON C. FOCUS OFF
The “C.F” indicator lights up.
This works only during 5.1 channel or when Dolby Pro Logic II
is turned on.
You can adjust the volume of the surround speakers to get
the best surround effect ( page 25).
