Overview

This document outlines new functions and addendums for various Panasonic network cameras, including S Series, S SeriesH, fisheye, Multi, miniAI, PTZ S, and PTZ U models. It details software upgrades from Firmware Ver.1.20 to Ver.2.33, introducing new features, changes to existing functionalities, and associated restrictions.

Firmware Ver.1.20 (Except for WV-S1536LTN, WV-S2536LTN, WV-S2136G, WV-S2136LG, WV-S2236LG, WV-S2536LG, WV-S2536LGN)

  • System Log for Recording Stream Failures: A new entry is added to the system log (Status > Maintenance) to record errors during the write process of the recording stream to SD memory cards. This includes indications for successful formatting, format errors, write-protect ON (locked card), detection errors, write errors, read errors, delete errors, file system errors, and undefined errors. A specific log entry, " An abnormality occurs in continuity of the SD memory recording," advises checking the recording bit rate setting. Another, " An error occurs in the SD memory card," suggests checking the card status, rebooting the unit, or reinserting the card if data loss persists.
  • Notification for Recording Stream Write Failures: A function is added to notify the user of writing failures in the recording stream with a unique alarm (Alarm > Notification > Panasonic alarm protocol). The "Diag." checkbox in the Panasonic alarm protocol settings now includes "When a write error on the SD memory card occurs" as an occurrence condition.
  • Bit Rate Recommendation Note: A note is added to the "Max bit rate (per client)*" setting (Image/Audio > Stream > Image) recommending a bit rate of 8192 kbps or lower for the recording stream. Exceeding this value may cause abnormalities in video continuity.
  • SDK Version Display: The software management screen (Ext. software > Software mng.) now displays the firmware version and SDK version of the camera and extension software. A message will appear if the camera's SDK version is older than required by the extension software.
  • Extended Authentication Password: The maximum length for the authentication password for notification destinations (Network > Advanced > E-mails) has been extended to 128 characters.

Firmware Ver.1.31

  • Pre-installed AI-VMD and AI People Detection: The pre-installed extension software AI Video Motion Detection ("AI-VMD") and AI Privacy Guard are changed to AI-VMD and AI People Detection. These are now pre-installed, and management can be performed on the "Ext. software" page.
  • RAM Capacity Expansion Mode: A "RAM capacity expansion mode" is added to the software management screen (Ext. software > Software mng.). When enabled, this mode increases the RAM available to extension software but disables SD memory card recording.
  • LLDP Function: The LLDP (Link Layer Discovery Protocol) function is added to "Advanced" of "Network." This enables interoperability by sending and receiving camera device information to and from LLDP-compatible devices. When enabled, LLDP including TLVs (End Of LLDPDU, Chassis ID, Port ID, Time To Live, Port Description, System Name, System Description, System Capability, Management Address, IEEE802.3 Power via MDI, Fabric Attach Element) will be sent. Fabric Attach authentication key can also be configured.
