What to do if the Parker Media Converter motor will not run at switch on?
    • J
      Jeffrey WheelerAug 7, 2025
If the Parker Media Converter motor doesn't run when you switch it on, there are several potential causes. First, the start/run signal might be absent, so check the control circuit wiring. Second, there might be no speed setpoint; in that case, examine the total setpoint at terminal 12, and also check the setpoint potentiometer and its wiring. Third, there could be no armature current, requiring you to check the P4 adjustment and the external current limit potentiometer setting and wiring, if applicable. Fourth, the field may be missing, so verify the field AC supply and field connections. Lastly, the motor may be jammed; if so, free any obstruction.

How to fix a Parker 512C motor that runs at full speed only?
    • F
      fergusonchelseaAug 17, 2025
If the Parker Media Converter motor runs only at full speed, the issue might stem from a few causes. First, the tachogenerator polarity could be incorrect, or the tachogenerator circuit could be open; in this case, check the tachogenerator's viability and connectivity. Second, the speed setpoint potentiometer might have an open circuit; check terminal 13 or 10, as appropriate. Third, the minimum speed setting could be affecting the motor; inspect the minimum speed potentiometer P6.

What to do if the Parker Media Converter has no "Power On" LED illuminated?
    • B
      Brandon PattersonAug 21, 2025
If the "Power On" LED on your Parker Media Converter is not illuminated, it could be due to a couple of reasons. First, there might be no supply available. Check the supply availability and ensure the supply fuse is fitted or the circuit breaker is closed. Second, an incorrect supply voltage might be applied to the controller. Verify that the supply voltage and transformer tapping position are compatible.

Why does the Parker 512C motor run with zero setpoint?
    • H
      howardrodriguezAug 27, 2025
If the Parker Media Converter motor runs even with a zero setpoint, it is likely due to the zero speed offset adjustment. Adjust P8 to achieve zero speed.

How to stop a Parker 512C Media Converter motor speed from oscillating?
    • B
      bentonmicheleSep 1, 2025
If the Parker Media Converter motor speed is oscillating, there are a couple of adjustments you can make. First, if it's related to stability, reduce P3. Second, if it involves IR compensation, note that there should be no IR compensation for Tachogenerator Feedback; for Armature Voltage Feedback, reduce P5.

Why does the Parker 512C motor run and then stop with the Stall LED illuminated?
    • W
      williamsmichaelNov 11, 2025
If the Parker Media Converter motor runs briefly and then stops, with the "Stall" LED illuminated, several issues could be the cause. It might be due to an incorrect current limit setting, so check both the P4 setting and any external current limit settings. Alternatively, the current calibration could be incorrect, requiring you to check programming switches SW5, 6, and 7. The motor could also be jammed, so inspect it for any obstructions. Furthermore, the feedback voltage calibration might be off; check feedback voltage calibration switches SW1/2, ensuring they are correctly set for both Tachogenerator and Armature Voltage Feedback. The controller output could be exceeded, so verify the compatibility of the motor voltage with the controller output voltage. Finally, a faulty tachogenerato...
