The default settings of the Inverter enable
Run/Stop operation via the red and green
buttons but do not allow forward and reverse
rotation to be selected via the keypad.
Section 11 explains how to enable remote
Run/Stop via a external switch.
This section extends the functionality added in
section 11 to include a Forward/Reverse
switch as well.
To use a external Fwd/Rev switch, the Inverter
must be set to operate in “Remote” mode - see
section 9 for details.
This behaviour is known as a
hence Digital Input 2 (DIN2).
Use shielded SY cable between the switch and
Inverter and ensure that the cable screen is
earthed as described in section 11.
A wiring diagram is shown in the illustration
opposite.
Note that this switch should be used in
conjunction with a Run/Stop switch as
described in section 11.
When the switch is in position “F” (forward), the
circuit between terminal 8 (DIN2) and terminal
6 (+24V) is incomplete and the motor direction
is set to forward.
When the switch is in position “R” (reverse),
the circuit between DIN2 and +24V is complete
and the motor direction is set to reverse.
Any 24V DC signal from an external source
such as a PLC connected to DIN2 will set the
direction of rotation.
