S - MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION
1--This boilermustbe disconnectedfromthe gassupplypipingduringanypressuretestingof thesystem.RefertoSectionH - "GAS PIPING".
Note8 for details.
2--The gasventusedonthis boi{erisofthe horizontalto verticaltype.Thevent andventingsystemshouldbeinspectedthoroughlyat the
beginningof eachheatingsystem.
3--The areawherethe boileriscontainedshould beclearand free fromcombustiblematerials,gasolineandotherflammablevaporsand liquids.
Theboilerarea shouldhaveampleairfor combustionandventilationand thereshouldbeno obstructionspreventinga freeflow of air
4--AI1low watercut-offsshouldbetested and inspectedpermanufacturer'sinstructions,anyfloattypesshouldbeflushedona weeklybasisto
removeanysedimentfromthefloat bowl.
5--A visualcheckof burnerandpilotflameshouldbe conductedatleastoncea year.Theflame interconeshouldbeapproximately11/2inches
high andshouldhavea very sharp,bfuecolorcharacteristic.SeeFigurebelow.

6--At the beginningofeach heatingseason,fluewaysandburnersshouldbecheckedforcleanlinessand cleanedifnecessary.Followingprocedure
wouldapplyif cleaningisrequired.
a. Turnoft allelectricalpowerto boilerbeforebeginningcleaningoperation.FollowLighting/OperatingInstructionsfor shuttingoff
maingasto appliance.
b. Removetheflue pipe,drafthood,top jacketpanelsand fluecollector.
c. Brushfluewayswithwirebrush.
d. Replacefluecollector.Whenreplacingthe fluecollector,be certainthat the sealingropebetweenthe fluecollectorandtop section
makesa tightseal to preventleakageofthe productsof combustion.
e. Replacethetop ofjacket,drafthoodand fluepipe.
f. Removethejacketclean-outcover plate.See Figure4.
g. Removecastironcover plateby removingfour(4)capscrewsat thecornersof theplate.
h. Brushtubeswith wirebrush.
i. Replacecoverplates.MakesureHi Tempropegasketis in place.
j. Removefrontjacketpanel (Figure4), and burneraccesscoverdoor (Figure11).
k. Removeburnersandbrushgasoutletportslightlyusingsoft bristlebrush.
