Also, check and clean the injector and screen, as a plugged injector system could be the cause. If the timer isn't cycling, replace it. Other potential issues include foreign material in the brine valve (replace the brine valve seat and clean the valve) or in the brine line flow control (clean the brine line flow control).

Add salt to the brine tank, ensuring the salt level remains above the water level. * The injector screen could be plugged. Clean the injector screen. * There might be insufficient water flowing into the brine tank. Check the brine tank fill time and clean the brine line flow control if it's plugged. * Hot water tank hardness. Repeated flushings of the hot water tank is required. * Leak at distributor tube. Make sure distributor tube is not cracked. Check o-ring and tube pilot. * Internal valve leak. Replace seals and spacers and/or piston.

Remove the piston and clean the control.
