4012/16 Diesel
Engine identification
The engine number and its build specification details are given on the date plate, fixed to the crankcase above
the flywheel housing on ‘A’ bank (A1).
Notes:
z On engines built before January 2000, the engine number is stamped on the face of the crankcase ‘A’ bank,
above the flywheel housing (A2).
z On engines built from February 2000, the engine number is stamped on the face of the crankcase ‘B’ bank,
above the gearcase (A3).
