How to drain the raw water system
Caution: The raw water system cannot be drained completely. If the system is drained for engine preservation
purposes or for protection from frost, the system must be lled again with an approved antifreeze mixture. See
“Coolant specication” in section 5 for details of the correct coolant to be used. See section 7 for details of how
to add antifreeze to the raw water system for engine preservation purposes.
1. Ensure that the seacock is closed.
2. Loosen the six setscrews (F1) of the cover for the raw water pump and withdraw slightly the cover.
3. Rotate the crankshaft to ensure that the raw water pump is empty.
4. Tighten the six setscrews of the cover for the raw water pump (If necessary replace joints).
Caution: When the raw water system is to be used again, ensure that the seacock is open.
5. Remove the drain plug (G1) and drain the heat exchanger. Ret the drain plug.
