2.1.4. C( nnection to the main s
T~ e instrument must only be supplied with a.c. voltage . On delivery the instrument is set to 220 V ±10 %.
If t must be u sed on differ en t mains voltage, proceed as follows :

the generator must be in conformity w i th the local safety regulations . The mains cabl e
of , he instrument contain s a protective conductor connected to the earth contacts of the plug . Thi s plug must
be :o nnected to a mains sock et with earth contacts. The protective earthing of the instrument is only guaranteed
whm performed in this way .
Th ! cabinet socket (..1.) at the rear must not be used to connect a protective earth conductor .
Th! si gnai-zero potential of the generator (that of the outer contacts of all BNC connectors) is connected
to : he cabinet by means of a capacitor and a res istor connected in paralIeI. A proper HF- earthing of the circuit
is t len obtained.

Wllen NOT operating th e instrument in the SINGLE SHOT or HOLD modes take care that in the frequency
rallges 1 m ... 100 for mode SINGLE SHOT, and 1 m ... 1 for mode HOLD the switches OFF / SET PHASE /
S1 ART and RUN / HOLD are in the positions OFF and RUN respectively, otherwise there will be no signal
at ;ocket OUTPUT.
2.2.1. Sw tching - on

Th l relevant pilot lam p then lights, indicating that the instrument is ready for use. The white part in the power
swi : ch indicates mechanically that the instrument is switched on .
