TKIP Temporal Key Integrity Protocol. TKIP utilizes a strong encrytption (security) method
and incorporates Message Integrity Code (MIC) to provide protection against
hackers.
WEP Wired Equivalent Privacy. An encryption method that provides security for 802.11
wireless network systems using a 64 or 128 bit key.
WMA Windows Media Audio. An audio file format developed by Microsoft.
WPA Wi-Fi Protected Access. It is a recent specification which provides stronger security
than WEP via enhanced encryption (security) and user authentication.
There are two encryption (security) options for WPA: TKIP and AES. See ‘TKIP’ and
‘AES’.
