3.3 Special Characteristics of PICMAWalk Drives
A PICMAWalk piezo drive module consists of four pairs of PICMA® piezo actuators. The actuator pairs move a
runner by coordinated shear and clamping motions.
The voltage range for the PICMA® piezo actuators is -20 V to + 120 V.

PICMAWalk walking drives require four voltage signals for shearing (D1, D2) and for clamping (C1, C2). With the E-
711/E-712 digital multi-channel piezo controller system, PICMAWalk drives are controlled in the same way as
NEXACT® drives. The only difference is the voltage range.
