Appendix C - Troubleshooting.
General operating problems.
Symptom: You turn on the Power button, but the power does not
come on.
Possible cause: Loose power cord or AC adaptor.
Solution: Firmly reinsert the mains power cable into PLEXTALK and
ensure that the AC adaptor is firmly inserted.
Symptom: The power is on, but PLEXTALK does not operate.
Possible cause: Key Lock is On.
Solution: Turn off the key lock by pressing the Rewind key and Fast
Forward key at the same time.
Symptom: PLEXTALK will not shut down and no keys can be
operated.
Possible cause 1: Key Lock is On.
Solution: Turn off the key lock by pressing the Rewind key and Fast
Forward key at the same time.
Possible cause 2: Unknown error.
Solution: Press and hold down the Sleep timer key and Power button
together for more than 10 seconds, then PLEXTALK will shut down.
If this does not work, remove the AC Adaptor and Battery from the
unit and then reinsert them.
Symptom: There is no voice guidance.
Possible cause 1: The volume has been set to '0'.
Solution: Increase the volume so that the guide speech can be
heard.
Possible cause 2: The power is off.
Solution: Turn the power on.
Spoken errors during DAISY playback.
