Compliance with International Standards 102
The exposure guidelines for devices employ a unit of measure-
ment known as the Specific Absorption Rate or SAR. The SAR limit
stated in the ICNIRP guidelines is 2.0 watts/kilogram (W/kg) aver-
aged over 10 grams of tissue. Tests for SAR are conducted using
standard operating positions with the device transmitting at its
highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. The
actual SAR level of an operating device is lower than maximum
value (2.0 W/kg) because the device is designed to use only the
power required to reach the network.
The FCC Statement of Exposure to RF and the SAR limit for the
United States (FCC) is 1.6 W/kg average for each gram of tissue.
This device was tested for typical operations of use on the body,
with the back of the PB618 at 0mm from the body. To maintain
compliance with FCC RF exposure requirements, use accessories
that maintain a distance of 0mm between the user’s body and the
back of the PB618.
