REAR LOWER CONTROL ARM REMOVAL /
INSTALLATION
Rear Lower Control Arm Removal
WARNING
The locking features on the lock nuts are destroyed
during removal. DO NOT reuse old lock nuts. Serious
injury or death could result if fasteners loosen during
operation.
1. Loosen the rear wheel lug nuts

with the vehicle on
the ground.
2. Elevate and safely support the vehicle weight.
Remove the wheel.
3. Remove the fasteners
w
that secure the lower
control arm to the frame. Discard the lock nuts.
4. Remove the fastener
e
that secures the shock to the
control arm. Discard the lock nut.
5. Remove the fastener that secures the sway bar
linkage to the control arm.
6. Remove the fastener attaching the control arm to the
bearing carrier. Discard the lock nut.
7. Disconnect the brake line retainers from the control
arm.
