CALIPER REMOVAL
1. Elevate and safely support the rear of the vehicle.
WARNING
Use care when supporting vehicle so that it does not tip
or fall. Severe injury may occur.
2. Remove the (4) wheel nuts and rear wheel.
3. Clean caliper area before removal.
4. Place a container below the caliper to catch the
brake fluid when removing the line. Remove brake
line

from caliper.
5. Loosen the brake pad adjustment set screw to allow
brake pad removal after the caliper is removed.
6. Remove and discard the two caliper mounting bolts
and remove the caliper.
CALIPER DISASSEMBLY
1. Remove brake pad adjustment set screw

2. Push upper pad retainer pin inward and slip brake
pads past the edge and remove from the caliper.
3. Remove mounting bracket

and dust boots

4. Using a hammer and a small punch, remove the
piston
t
from the caliper body
y
. Remove the
square O-rings
u
and
i
from the caliper body.
5. Clean the caliper body, piston, and retaining bracket
with brake cleaner or alcohol.
NOTE
Be sure to clean seal grooves in caliper body.
