EMISSION CON TROL SYSTEMS
Crankcase Em ission Control System
This engine is equipped with a closed crankcase sys tem. Blow-by
gases are forced back t o the combustion chamber by the intake system.
The system does n ot allow th e bl ow-by gases to enter the atmosphere.
Exhaust Emission Control S ystem
The emissions from the exhaust of this vehicle are controlled by engine
design, includin g factory-set fuel delivery and ignit i o n . The engine
and related components must be maintained at Pol aris specifications to
achieve o ptimal performance.
Adjustment to engine idle is the only adjustment Polaris recommends
that the operator perform. Any other adjustments should be performed
by an authorized Polaris dealer.
The RANGER TM emissions label (1) is l ocated on the front of t h e
engine. Remove the service panel (2) to view the label. The label on
the RANGER 4X4 and 6X6 (3) is located on the recoil cover. Remove
the seat and look through the gap in the aluminum exhaust shield to
view the label.

The installation of devices that effectively increase exhaust
emissions beyond their legal limits will void all manufacturer
warranties and may violate laws governing the registration and
operation of t his vehicle.
