8. Stand
to
one side
of
saw blade and
do
not
allow any
other
person
to
stand in line with the
saw blade.
9.
Use
the splitter, blade guard, push stick and
other
safety devices for all operations where they
can be used. On operations such
as
dadoing
or
molding where such devices
cannot
be used, use
feather boards, fixtures
or
other
safety devices and use extreme caution. Reinstall the splitter
and blade guard immediately after completing
the
operations
that
required their removal.
10. Do
not
reach over the saw blade
to
remove stock; use a pusher stick
or
have a helper
or
"tail
man"
take
it
away.
11.
If
leaving the machine area,
turn
off
the machine and wait until the saw blade comes
to
a com-
plete stop before departing.
12. Give the work
you're
doing, and the saw
or
cutter
your
undivided attention. Looking around,
carrying on a conversation and "horse play" are careless acts
that
can result in serious injury.
13. Never climb on
or
near the saw. Keep an evenly balanced stance with
your
weight on
both
feet.
Avoid awkward operations and hand positions where a sudden slip could cause
your
hand
to
con-
tact
the blade.
14. Do
not
leave long
or
wide boards unsupported where spring
or
weight could cause the board
to
shift position.
15. Do
not
remove the insert
or
make any adjustment with the saw blade rotating
and
disconnect the
machine from its power source when changing blades or cutters
or
performing
any
maintenance.
16. Bolt the saw
to
the floor through the lag holes provided
to
avoid any tendency
of
the saw
to
tip
or
shift during cutting operations.
17. Provide for adequate surrounding work sp4ce 4nd overhead non-glare lighting.
18.
Use
only Powermatic
or
factory authorized replacement parts and accessories; otherwise,
the
warranty and guarantee are null and void.
19. Do
not
use this Powermatic saw for
other
than its intended use
as
a table saw.
If
used for
other
pprposes, Powermatic disclaims any real
or
implied warranty and holds itself harmless for any
injury
that
may result from
that
use.
WARNING:
Do
not
equip
or
use this machine with a
motor
larger than
7~
horsepower
at
3600 RPM. The use
of
· a larger horsepower
or
higher speed
motor
voids the war-
ranty and Powermatic holds itself harmless for any injury
that
may result.
