What to do if Procom PCNSD18T Heater spark at ODS/pilot but no ignition?
    • K
      Kathleen MedinaAug 19, 2025
If there's a spark but no ignition in your Procom heater, it could be due to several reasons. First, ensure that the gas supply is turned on and the equipment shutoff valve is open. Also, check that the control knob is in the PILOT position and fully pressed in while you're pressing the ignitor button. If it's a new installation or there's been a recent gas interruption, there might be air in the gas lines, so continue holding down the control knob and repeat the igniting operation until the air is removed. Another potential issue is a clogged ODS/pilot, which would need to be cleaned or replaced. Lastly, for propane models, a depleted gas supply could be the culprit, so contact your local propane gas company.

Why does Procom PCNSD18T pilot light but flame goes out?
    • J
      Jennifer SilvaAug 21, 2025
If the pilot light on your Procom heater lights but the flame goes out when you release the control knob, there are a few things to check. Make sure the control knob is fully pressed in and held for at least 30 seconds after the pilot lights. Verify that the equipment shutoff valve is fully open. Also, check the thermocouple connection at the control valve to ensure it's snug—hand-tighten it and then give it an additional 1/4 turn. If the pilot flame isn't touching the thermocouple, allowing it to cool, contact your local gas company or clean/replace the ODS/pilot assembly. A damaged thermocouple or control valve could also be the problem, requiring replacement.

What to do if Procom Heater shuts off in use?
    • N
      nwardAug 23, 2025
If your Procom heater shuts off while in use, and the ODS (Oxygen Depletion Sensor) is operating, it could be due to a few reasons. First, ensure that there is enough fresh air available by opening a window or door for ventilation. Another potential cause is low line pressure, in which case you should contact your local gas supplier. Lastly, a partially clogged ODS/pilot could be the issue. In this case cleaning the ODS/pilot may help.

      Tyler CampbellAug 27, 2025
If the burner on your Procom heater does not light after the ODS/pilot is lit, the burner orifice may be clogged. Clean the burner orifice. Also, the inlet gas pressure could be too low, so contact your local gas supplier to check. If the burner orifice diameter is too small, you may need to replace the heater chassis.

Why does my Procom Heater produce unwanted odors?
    • S
      Stephen GomezAug 30, 2025
Your Procom heater might produce unwanted odors if it's burning vapors from paint, hairspray, glues, or similar products. To resolve this, open a window to ventilate the room and avoid using odor-causing products while the heater is running. A gas leak could also be the source of the odor. Locate and correct any leaks. For propane models, check if the fuel supply is low and refill the supply tank if needed.

Why does my Procom Heater whistle when lit?
    • H
      Haley WilliamsSep 5, 2025
A whistling noise from your Procom heater when the burner is lit can be due to several factors. If you turned the control knob to the high position when the burner was cold, turn it to the low position and let it warm up for a minute. Air in the gas line can also cause this issue, so operate the burner until the air is removed from the line, and have the gas line checked by your local gas supplier. Blocked air passageways on the heater could be another cause; observe the minimum installation clearances. Finally, a dirty or partially clogged burner orifice might be the problem, so clean the burner.
