Manual Profound VIBRA-series, version 2.00

When you measure with a VIBRA
+
and have activated the e-mail function, this period is shorter. Regularly
check the remaining battery power in the daily status e-mail. If the battery power is below the 3.6 Volt
(11%), the system will not send e-mails anymore. It will be able to measure for several days.
When the batteries are empty, the VIBRA will switch off automatically and will make sure that all data is
retained. After replacing the empty batteries with new ones, the VIBRA can be switched on again and the
data can be retrieved by connecting the VIBRA to a computer. See paragraph 3.3.1. for the correct
procedure to replace the batteries.
Optional: USB adapter
To lengthen measuring time a special USB adapter can be obtained at Profound, enabling connection of
the VIBRA via USB to the mains (220V).Thus you can measure indefinitely until the memory is full. The
batteries should not be removed from the VIBRA, as the battery power is needed for the GPRS/internet
functions.
Memory
The amount of free data memory, available for data storage, is indicated on the bottom right of the
display. The emptier the indicator, the more memory space is available for storing measuring values and
traces.
Before starting a new measurement with the VIBRA, it is recommended to start with an empty internal data
memory and full batteries. If necessary, remove data via the option Erase Data in the main menu and/or
replace the batteries with new alkaline ones.
6.0 VIBRA PC software
The VIBRA presents and stores vibration signals on site. Later on, all data can be easily transferred to a
Windows
®
PC with the VIBRA PC software for further analysis. This chapter describes how to install and
make optimum use of the PC software. You can also program the VIBRA via the PC software.
The VIBRA PC software has an electronic help function that can be found in the Help menu or via short
key F1.
To ensure data protection each VIBRA has its own unique license file, as described in paragraph 6.1.
Installation of the PC software including driver has been described in paragraph 6.2. Information about
downloading, saving and exporting measuring data can be found in paragraph 6.3. With the information in

you
will
be able to program and lock the VIBRA with the PC software.
Please note: the available data memory of the VIBRA has been split into 2. Top part of the
indicator displays the memory for the measuring data, bottom part the memory for the
traces. If one part of the memory is full, it will not influence the other part.
