What to do if my Protemp PT 70T-KFA fires then shuts down with an E1 error?
    • P
      patrick77Aug 6, 2025
If your Protemp Heater starts but then shuts down, and the LED display shows “E1” with a flickering lamp, the possible causes include incorrect pump pressure, a dirty input, output, or lint filter, a dirty fuel filter, a dirty nozzle, a dirty or defective photocell, or a fuel valve issue. Try these steps: adjust the pump pressure, clean or replace the air filter, fuel filter, and nozzle. Also, clean or replace the photocell, adjust its position, or replace it if defective. Finally, check the wiring connections between the circuit board and photocell, and inspect the fuel valve.

What to do if Protemp PT 70T-KFA Heater fan not working?
    • A
      Alan MosesAug 17, 2025
If the fan on your Protemp Heater does not operate when plugged in and the power switch is in the “ON” position, and the lamp is flickering or on, it could be due to the thermostat being set too low or a broken electrical connection between the circuit board and the motor. Try rotating the thermostat to a higher setting and inspect all electrical connections.

How to fix a Protemp PT 70T-KFA that won't turn on?
    • T
      teresakeithAug 31, 2025
If your Protemp Heater does not turn on and the lamp is not lit, it could be due to several reasons. The temperature limit sensor may have overheated, there might be no electrical power, or the fuse could be blown. Also, check the electrical connection between the temperature limit sensor and the circuit board. First, push the power switch to “OFF” and allow the heater to cool for 10 minutes, then push the power switch back to “ON”. Check the power cord and extension cord to ensure they are properly connected and test the power supply. Finally, check and replace the fuse if necessary.

      susanolsonNov 10, 2025
If your Protemp Heater won't operate, or the motor runs briefly, and the LED display shows “E1” with a flickering lamp, it could be due to several reasons. There might be no kerosene in the fuel tank, or the pump pressure could be incorrect. Other potential issues include a corroded spark plug, a dirty fuel filter or nozzle, or moisture in the fuel tank. Also, check the electrical connections between the transformer and circuit board, ensure the transformer wire is connected to the spark plug, and inspect the transformer and fuel valve for defects. Try these solutions: fill the tank with fresh kerosene, adjust the pump pressure, clean or replace the spark plug, fuel filter, and nozzle. Rinse out the fuel tank with clean kerosene, re-attach the transformer wire to the spark plug, and replac...
