This is an unvented portable heater. It uses air (oxygen) from the area in which it is used. Adequate combustion
and ventilation air must be provided. Refer to VENTILATION on Page 7.

      If your Protemp Heater fires up but shuts down quickly, several factors could be at play. It might be due to a dirty fuel filter, a dirty nozzle, or a dirty or defective photocell, or the photocell might not be correctly installed. Check the wiring between the circuit board and photocell. Additionally, an obstructed cooling fan could cause this issue. Ensure the cooling fan isn't blocked.

      If your Protemp Heater isn't turning on, and the lamp isn't lit, the temperature limit sensor may have overheated. Try turning the Operating Switch to “OFF” and let the heater cool down for about 5 minutes, then switch it back to “ON.” Also, ensure the heater is getting power by checking the power and extension cords and testing the power supply. A blown fuse or a loose connection between the Temperature Limit Sensor and the Circuit Board can also be responsible.

      If the fan on your Protemp Heater isn't working when plugged in and switched on, check the electrical connections between the circuit board and the motor. Also, ensure that the heater is receiving sufficient power by using a new extension cord or trying a different electrical socket.

      The grinding noise in your Protemp Heater might be due to air in the fuel pump. This sound should stop after about 3 seconds. If it continues, try adding more fuel to the tank.
