2.2.5 Gear Ratio Assembly
Figure 6
PULSAR pumps are driven by a standard C-face electric motor mounted on the motor
adaptor input flange. The motor drives a set of worm gears which convert rotational speed
into torque. They in turn power the eccentric shaft assembly that converts rotary motion to
reciprocating motion. The motor adaptor is available in a variety of configurations to
accommodate different motor frame specifications.
Figure 7
More than one pump can be driven through a single drive assembly. This is referred to as
multiplexing. The pumps are mounted on a common gear reducer assembly on the driver pump
and the pump without a gear reducer is called the driven pump. Each pump is mounted on its
respective standard simplex base.
