Dual Air Condioning Units
The reverse cycle air condioning system consists of a 8,000 BTU and 16,000 BTU self contained air
condioning units, a seawater pickup, strainer, water pump, and control panel. The 16,000 BTU air
condioning unit is located on the port side of the salon, can be easily accessed by removing a panel
located in the a salon bench seat. The 8,000 BTU unit is located in the forward berth storage under
the bed. Care should be taken to not stow items around the unit that may block the return air grill or
damage the refrigerant gas lines to the compressor.
Dual Unit Operaon
Prior to starng the air condioner make sure that the water pickup seacock, located in the port side
of the bilge and accessed through the forward cockpit oor hatch, is OPENED. The 16,000 BTU air
condioner is controlled by a keypad located on the port side of the salon provides air to the a berth
and salon. The 8,000 BTU unit provides air to the forward berth only. The second control panel is
located on the starboard side of the forward berth. Each panel allows for either automac control of a
preset temperature, or it allows you to vary the blower speed and temperature manually. When the
air condioner unit is turned on, seawater is pumped into the system through the seacock and
strainer. The water passes through the compressor cooling the condensing coils, then it ows
overboard to a thru hull drain. Any condensaon on the air condioner unit will collect into a
condensaon pan and then drain overboard, either via gravity or a sump pump.
