LIMITING TRANSMISSION DURATION
When you communicate on the 2-
meter band, you should keep your
transmissions as brief as possible.
Most repeaters have built-in timers
that limit single transmissions to 3
minutes
or
less.
You
can
set
the

SETTING THE PRIORITY SCAN TIME
When you turn on priority scan, the
transceiver checks the programmed
priority-frequency memories periodi-
cally to see if there is any activity. As
factory set, the transceiver checks the
priority-frequency memories every 4
seconds. To change the priority scan
time, follow the steps in ‘‘Understand-
ing the Configuration Menu”’ to dis-
play Lb. Then, rotate TUNE to select
4, 8 12, or 16 seconds.
