11.1UsingaDSCVHFradiowithyour
display
YoucanconnectyourDSCVHFradiotoyourmultifunction
displayandshowdistressmessageinformationandGPS
positiondataforothervessels.
ConnectingaDSCVHFradiotoyourmultifunctiondisplay
providesthefollowingadditionalfunctionality:
DistressMessageswhenyourDSCVHFradioreceivesa
DSCmessageoralarmfromanotherDSCVHFradio-equipped
vessel,thevesselidentication(MMSI),GPSposition,and
timeofdistressmessageisdisplayedonyourmultifunction
display.Withthedistressmessagedisplayedyoucanuse
thebuttonsprovidedto:clearthemessage,placeawaypoint
onthechartattheGPSpositionofthedistressedvessel,or
immediatelystartnavigating(GOTO)totheGPSpositionof
thedistressedvessel.
PositionDatathe“PositionRequest”buttononyourDSC
VHFradioenablesyoutosendandreceiveGPSpositiondata
toandfromothervesselsequippedwithaDSCVHFradio.
ForinformationoninstallingandoperatingyourDSCVHFradio,
refertothehandbookthataccompaniestheradio.

3.SelectDSCAlerts>ON.
Note:DSCVHFdistressmessagesareonlydisplayed
forradiosconnectedviaNMEA0183.DSCVHFdistress
messagesareNOTdisplayedforSeaTalkradiosconnectedto
thedisplayviatheSeaT alktoSeaTalkngconverter.
