7.1Postinstallationprocedures
Beforeusingtheproduct,carryoutthefollowing:
•Mechanicalchecks.
•Switchonandinitialsetup.
Mechanicalchecks
Beforeswitchingontheproduct:
•Ensurethat:
–Allsecuringboltsarefullytightenedandthe
appropriatemechanicallockingwashersarein
place.
–Allconnectionsaresecurelymade.
–Allconnectingcablesandwiresaresecuredand
protectedasnecessary.
•AskyourlocalRaymarineauthorizedinstallerto
checktheinstallation.
ConnectingtoaRadarscannerover
RayNet
Onceyou’vemadealltherelevantpowerand
dataconnectionsasdescribedintheCables
andconnectionssection,youcanusetheRadar
applicationonacompatibledisplaytoconduct
furtherinitialtests.

tests,refertotheRadarapplicationchapterofthe
Operationshandbookforyourdisplay.
Note:IfyouhaveaWi-Fi-onlyvariantRadar
scanner,refertothePairingwithaQuantum
RadarusingWi-Fisectionforinformationon
connectingtoanMFDviaWi-Fi.
PoweringonaQuantumRadar
Withtheradarscannerinapoweredoffstate,and
connectedtoacompatiblemultifunctiondisplay
(MFD):
1.OntheMFD,launchtheRadarapplication.
Amessageboxisdisplayedindicatingthata
Radarscannerisoffor“notconnected”.
2.SelectOnfromtheonscreenmessagebox.
TheRadarwillpowerupinStandbymode.
3.OncetheRadarhaspoweredup,selectTxto
starttheRadartransmitting.
Radarreturnswillnowbedisplayedonscreen.
PairingwithaQuantumRadarusing
Wi-Fi
IfyourRadarscannersupportsaWi-Ficonnection,
youcanconnecttoaLightHouse
TM
MFDwhichalso
supportsWi-Fi.Duringpairing,theWi-Ficredentials
ofallMFDswithWi-Fiswitchedonaresenttothe
QuantumRadar.Atsubsequentpowercyclesthe
QuantumRadarwillautomaticallyconnecttothe
MFDwiththestrongestsignal.
Note:
1.Duringinitialsetupyouwillhave10minutesin
whichtoconnecttheRadartoyourMFD.After
thistime,ifnoconnectionismade,theRadar
willautomaticallygotoSleep.Ifthisoccurs,
powercycletheRadartobringitoutofSleep
modeandestablishaconnection.
2.NetworkedMFDsthatonlyhavetheirWi-Fi
enabledaftertheinitialpairingperiod,will
sendWi-FicredentialstotheRadarwhentheir
Wi-Fiisswitchedon.
1.ApplypowertoyourMFD(s).
2.PoweronandthenenabletheWi-Ficonnection
totheMFDswhichhavethestrongestsignal,as
identiedduringthepre-installationsitesurvey.
UsuallythesewillbetheMFDsclosesttoand/or
withtheclearestlineofsighttotheRadar).
3.ApplypowertoyourRadarscanner.
4.SelectQuantumRadarfromtheExternal
DevicesmenuontheMFD:(Homescreen>
Set-up>SystemSettings>ExternalDevices
>QuantumRadar).
5.SelectPairwithQuantumRadar.
6.Ifprompted,selectOktoenableyourMFD’s
Wi-Ficonnection.
7.EntertheRadar’sSSID(e.g.Quan-
tum_1234567)intheSSIDeldandthe
passcode(e.g.901589f5)inthePasscode
eld.
RefertotheRetainyourWi-FiPasscodesection
fordetailsonlocatingyourSSIDandPasscode.
Important:
•EnsurethattheSSIDandPasscodeareentered
exactlyasshownontheserialnumberlabelthat
wassuppliedwiththeRadar.
•TheSSIDisalwaysmadeupoftheword
“Quantum”,followedbyanunderscore“_”,
followedbytheproduct’s7digitserialnumber,
(e.g.Quantum_1234567).
8.SelectConnect.
Theinitialconnectioncantakeupto2minutesto
complete.
9.SelectOkfromtheSuccessfulConnection
pop-up.
