8.1Scanmode
Scanmodeenablesautomaticsearchingforchannelsthatare
currentlybroadcasting.
Scanmodewillsearchchannelsandstopwhenitndsa
channelthatisbroadcasting.Ifthebroadcaststopsorislostfor
morethan5secondsthenthescanwillresume.
Channelscanbetemporarilyremovedfromanactivescan,
andthedirectionofscancanalsobechanged.Whenthescan
reachesthelastchannelinthebandthescancycleisrepeated.
Thefollowingscansoptionsareavailable:
•ALLSCAN—Allchannelsinthefrequencybandtheradiois
settoarescannedinsequence.
•ALLSCAN+16—Allchannelsinthefrequencybandthe
radioissettoarescanned,aftereachchannelisscanned
prioritychannel16isscanned.
•SAVEDSCAN—Onlychannelssavedtotheradio’smemory
arescannedinsequence.
•SAVEDSCAN+16—Onlychannelssavedtotheradio’s
memoryarescanned,aftereachchannelisscannedpriority
channel16isscanned.
Note:OntheRay260andRay260AIS,iftheweatheralert
functionisactivatedtheweatheralertchannelisincludedin
thescan.
Performingascan
Scanmodeisstartedfromthemainmenu.
FromtheVHFoperationmenu(Mainmenu>VHFOPERATION
):
1.SelectSCANMODE.
2.Selecteither:
•ALLSCAN
•ALLSCAN+16
•SAVEDSCAN
•SAVEDSCAN+16
Onceselectedthescanwillstart.
3.Youcanexcludeachannelfromthecurrentscanbyselecting
XCLUDEwhenthescanstopsonthatchannel.
4.YoucanstopthecurrentscanatanytimebyselectingEND.
Savingachannel
Youcanaddchannelstotheradio’smemorysothattheyare
includedinthescansaveandscansave+16scanmodes.
FromtheVHFoperationmenu(Mainmenu>VHFOPERATION
):
1.SelectSAVECHANNEL.
2.UsetheChannelUpandChannelDownbuttonstoselect
therelevantchannel.
3.SelectSAVEtosavethechannel.
4.ToremoveasavedchannelselectCLEAR.
TheSAVEDiconappearson-screenwhenyouaretunedtoa
savedchannel.
8.2Watchmodes
Thewatchmodesmonitorprioritychannelsandthecurrently
selectedchannel.
Thereare2typeofwatchmode;DualwatchandTriwatch.
•Dualwatchmodemonitorsprioritychannel16andthe
currentlyselectedchannel.
•Triwatchmodemonitorsprioritychannel16,thesecond
prioritychannelandthecurrentlyselectedchannel.
Whentheradiodetectsatransmissionthewatchmodeis
suspendeduntilthetransmissionendsthenthewatchmode
willrecommence.
Usingwatchmodes
FromtheVHFoperationmenu(Mainmenu>VHFOPERATION
):
1.SelectWATCHMODE.
2.SelecteitherDUALWATCHorTRIWATCHtostartthe
watchmode.
3.SelectENDatanytimetostopthewatchmodeandresume
normaloperation.
