Thetoe-in/outonthefrontaxlecanbeadjustedbyturn-
ing the tie rods (1). Because the tie rods have left and
right-hand threads, there is no need to remove them for
adjustment. Always turn both tie rods (left and right front
wheels) evenly; otherwise, the previously adjusted steer-
ingcongurationwillnolongert.
The steering knuckle has another attachment point for the
tie rod. It serves to adjust the turning angle of the front
wheel (Ackermann angle) since the inside wheel requires
a larger steering angle.
Therearaxletoeispresetandcannotbechanged.
c) Adjusting the shock absorbers
There are different mounting points for the shock absorb-
ers at the top of the shock absorber bridges (1) and on the
lower suspension arms (2). The ground clearance and the
damping behaviour can thus be adjusted depending on
the installation.
Thenalsettingsalwaysdependonthepreferableroute
of the model. If necessary, you can try different settings
andthusgainhands-onexperienceofthedrivingbehav-
iour of the model.
Experienced model vehicle operators can also use this
opportunity to customise the shock absorbers. For this
purpose, hard damping springs and shock absorber oils
with different viscosity are commercially available.
