Your Regal should always be equipped with at least one hand-portable
B-I fi re extinguisher, along with your automatic fi re extinguishing
system if the option is installed. Otherwise, two B-I fi re extinguishers
are required. It is important to understand how to use the fi re
extinguisher you equip. General fi re extinguishing strategy involves
pulling the pin, aiming the discharge end at the fi re, and squeezing the
handle to release the extinguishing agent.
If there is a fi re in the engine compartment, utilize the fi re port along
the transom walk-thru if using a hand portable extinguisher, or the
manual discharge lever for the optional automatic fi re extinguishing
system. The fi re extinguisher(s) you equip can be one of four class
B designs approved by the U.S. Coast Guard, dry chemical, foam,
carbon dioxide, and Halon gas.
The dry chemical extinguisher is fi lled with a white dry chemical
powder along with a pressurized gas. It is a good idea to shake this
