Chapter 4
TYPICAL AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM
Overview
The current air conditioning dual zone system features a
total output of 32,000 BTU’s (British Thermal Units). The
system utilizes a single 230 volt pump which delivers cooler
seawater to both evaporators/condensers found under the
main cabin/salon oor. Warmer seawater exits the yacht
through a manifold and various thru-hull ttings.
The port evaporator/condenser unit is connected to the
aft air conditioning system. The starboard evaporator/
condenser unit is connected to the forward air conditioning
system. Each of the evaporator/condenser units incorporate
a compressor to compact the R-22 refrigerant.
The forward air conditioner serves the forward cabin,
forward head, and starboard salon.
The aft air conditioner serves the port main cabin, galley,
aft master stateroom and aft head.
The Elite control panel (thermostat) for the forward air
conditioning system is located in the main cabin (salon).
The Elite control panel for the aft air conditioning system
is located in the aft master stateroom.
Optional “cool cockpit”
air conditioning is currently
featured at 27,000 BTU’s.
The compressor unit is lo-
cated in the starboard en-
gine room. Seawater is de-
livered through a single 230
volt pump located in the engine room.
The Elite control panel for the optional cool cockpit op-
tion is located normally at the refreshment center.
