Chapter 4
TYPICAL FRESH WATER SYSTEM
Overview
Your vessel is equipped with a fresh water supply system.
It consists of a fresh water tank, deck ll/vent ttings,
monitor panel, pressure water pump with lter, distribution
system, manifolds, wash down spigots and hot water heater.
As needed the pressure demand type pump is energized, or
the dockside system distributes water through the vessel.
The system is normally winterized from the factory utilizing
a product called “Freeze Ban”. It is best to completely
drain the Freeze Ban before adding any water to the tank
in order to minimize the taste of Freeze Ban. Freeze Ban
will not harm you but it does have a peculiar taste.
The system requires little maintenance except occasional
ushing of the tank, cleaning of the water lter and
winterizing in cold weather climates.

your closest Regal yacht dealer.
Filling Water Tank At the Deck Fill
The fresh water system uses a tank to distribute water on
board also known as potable water.
There is a water ll located
on the forward deck along
with a vent fitting used to
evacuate any air from the tank
as it is being replaced during
the lling process. Make sure
you do not mistake the water
ll cap for waste or diesel. To
ll the system turn the water
fill cap counterclockwise.
Remove the cap and insert the supply hose. Make sure
the water source is pure and drinkable.
Fill until you see water emerging from the deck vent.
Reinstall the ll cap and use the designed “key” to tighten
it. If you do not have a key a quarter coin will work well.

Periodically check the
water ll cap for tight-
ness. On the underside
of the water ll cap is an
“O ring” which aids the
water ll cap to seal prop-
erly. The “O ring” should
t tightly around the cap.
If it is loose, cracked or
damaged replace it since it
helps to keep debris out ot the water system.
For general knowledge all red water lines carry the “hot”
water on board your vessel. Likewise, all blue water lines
carry the “cold” water.
Note: To completely turn vessel water off on 42’s and
46’s:
1. At mooring with the standard dockside water inlet
valve connected turn the marina faucet off. Disconnect
the dockside water inlet hose.
2. At sea deactivate the pressure water system breaker at
the main ship’s electrical panel located in the salon.
