I/O-NET
The MACH-Pro(Web)Com supports up to eight expansion modules in any combination on
I/O-Net. For detailed information on MACH-ProPoint expansion modules, refer to the
MACH-ProPoint User Guide
.
The MACH-Pro(Web)Com can support a maximum of 192 inputs and a maximum of 128
outputs. Any mix of MACH-ProPoint expansion modules is supported.
All MACH-ProPoint expansion modules communicate to the host MACH-Pro(Web)Com
controller through the AUX-Net port, configured as I/O-Net using MSet. When I/O-Net is
selected, the I/O-Net port is dedicated to I/O-Net devices.
The EOL DIP switches on the host MACH-Pro(Web)Com controller’s AUX-Net port must
be IN or terminated, whenever expansion modules are connected. End-Of-Line (EOL)
switches are not provided on MACH-ProPoint expansion modules. Each expansion
module has a weak 1/8 load termination. If all eight expansion modules are connected, the
network is fully terminated.
Expansion modules can be located remotely from the host MACH-Pro(Web)Com
controller. To maintain a reasonable level of fault tolerance, expansion modules should be
located in the same mechanical room, or in the general vicinity of the host controller. I/O-
Net is NOT designed to be a building-wide network.
The MACH-Pro(Web)Com host controller communicates to its expansion modules ten
times per second, even if the host controller is scanning at a faster rate. For this reason,
MACH-ProPoint outputs cannot be cycled on or off faster than ten times per second.
Additionally, inputs cannot be read faster than ten times per second. Pulse accumulation
is carried out within the expansion modules, and is therefore not limited by the
communication rate to the host controller.
