BASIC MITER SAW OPERATIONS
●
It is recommended to use the clamp to
hold the work piece rmly.
●
Always position the workpiece against
the fence. Any workpiece that is bowed
or warped and cannot be held at on
the table or against fence may trap the
blade and should not be used.
BODY AND HANDS POSITION (FIG. 12)
Never place hands near cutting area. Keep
hands outside the “No-Hands Zone” (1)
which includes entire table and is labeled
by “No Hands” symbols.
TURNING THE SAW ON (FIG. 13)
This miter saw is equipped with an ON/OFF
trigger switch (1). With the safety lock (2)
pressed, squeeze the trigger switch (1) to
turn the miter saw ON.
NOTE: Make the switch child-proof. Insert
a padlock (3) through the hole (4) in the
trigger switch and lock it. This will prevent
children and other unauthorized users from
engaging the trigger switch ON.
MITER CUT (FIG. 14)
1. Unlock the table by turning the miter
handle (1) counterclockwise.
2. While holding the miter handle (1),
press up the positive stop locking
lever (2).
3. Rotate the miter table to the right or left
with the miter handle (1).
4. When the table is in the desired
position, as shown on the miter scale (3),
release the positive stop locking lever (2)
and tighten the miter handle (1). The
table is now locked at the desired angle.
Positive stops are provided at 0°, 15°,
22.5°, 31.6° and 45°.
IMPORTANT: Always tighten the miter
handle (1) before performing every
cutting operation.
WARNING! To avoid injury from
materials being thrown, unplug saw
to avoid accidental starting, and then
remove small materials.
REMOVING THE BLADE (FIG. 15, 16, 17)
1. Unplug the saw from the outlet.
2. Allow the miter saw to rise to the upright
position. Raise the lower blade guard (1)
to the up position. (Fig. 15)
3. Loosen the cover plate screw (2) with a
Phillips screwdriver.
4. Rotate the cover plate (3) to expose the
arbor bolt (4).
5. Place the blade wrench on the arbor
bolt (4).
6. The arbor lock (5) is located beside the
upper blade guard, below the miter saw
switch handle. (Fig. 16)
7. Press the arbor lock (5 - Fig. 16),
holding it in rmly while turning the
blade wrench clockwise. The arbor
lock will engage after turning the hex

arbor bolt (4 - Fig. 15).
8. Remove the arbor bolt (4), the arbor
collar (6), the reducer (7) and the
blade (8). Do not remove the inner arbor
collar. (Fig. 17)
NOTE: Pay attention to the pieces
removed, noting their position and
direction they face. Wipe the blade
collars clean of any sawdust before
installing a new blade. Also, the 255 mm
blade has a 25.4 mm arbor hole with
a 16 mm reducer (7) to mount onto
the saw.
Changing Blades
WARNING! Do not use a blade larger than
255 mm in diameter. To avoid injury from
an accidental start, make sure the switch
is in the OFF position and the plug is not
connected to the power source outlet.
