SYMPTOM
Dirty background sometimes appears.
CAUSE
When one of the following conditions is met, the chargeability of the toner is decreased,
and the machine responds by increasing the toner concentration (TC). As a result, toner
filming on the development roller is accelerated, and the poorly-charged toner is easily
transferred onto the non-image areas of the OPC surface.
- Low humidity and low temperature conditions
- High print volume
- High one-to-one print jobs
- High image coverage
- High paper dust content in recycled toner
SOLUTION
Production:
The toner was modified to minimize a decrease in chargeability under the conditions listed
above.
Note: The modified toner has a lot number that ends in suffix A.
