Introduction
1
This manual provides instrucons for converng gas
types on Rinnai I-Series Condensing Boilers.
For installaons in Canada, the conversion shall be
carried out in accordance with the requirements of the
provincial authories having jurisdicon and in
accordance with the requirements of the CGA-B149.1,
Natural Gas and Propane Installaon Code.
The boiler must be converted in accordance with local
codes or, in the absence of local codes, the Naonal Fuel
Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54 and/or CSA B149.1,
Natural Gas and Propane Installaon Code.

• Be sure the boiler conversion is performed by a
trained and qualied professional.

To The Installer
• A trained and qualied professional must
perform the gas conversion for this boiler.
Improper gas conversion will void the warranty.
• The trained and qualied professional should
have skills such as:
− Gas line sizing
− Connecng gas lines, water lines, valves,
and electricity
− Knowledge of applicable naonal, state, and
local codes
− Training in installaon of condensing
boilers. Training on Rinnai I-Series
Condensing Boilers is accessible at
www.trainingevents.rinnai.us.
• Read all instrucons in this manual before
aempng the gas conversion. The gas
conversion must be performed according to the
exact instrucons in this manual.
• Proper gas conversion is the responsibility of
the installer.
• When gas conversion is complete:
− Complete the “For the Consumer” form in
the back of this manual.
− Leave this manual with the boiler or give
the manual directly to the consumer.
