Step 5: Because most of the trees do not have a perfect
circular stem at the measuring level, it is
necessary to write down the deviation from
circularity in the program: In case of the cross
section shown on the right, the positions of
sensors 2,4,6,8 and 11 need to be corrected.
To do this write down the deviation from
circularity of the sensors in the column (“Radius-
Difference”). Outward deviations will get positive
values, inward deviations will get negative
values.
The resulting cross section in the program now
matches the cross section of the drawing on the
right.
