CYLINDER HEAD
(1)
Clean carbon from combustion chamber and dirt from between the cooling fins. Check the
cylinder head mounting face for distortion.
If
distortion is greater than specification (See
”
SERVISE DATA”
1,
replace head.
(2) In reassembly use new cylinder head gasket.
(NOTES]
Do
not install spark plug at this time. This will ease in
turning
engine over for remainder
of
assembly. When installing spark
plug,
torque to specification (See
“SPECIFICATIONS”).

ROCKER ARMS AND
PUSH
RODS
(1)
Install push rods in cylinder, make sure that
each rod
is
secured
in
the depression on the
tappet.
(2) Install rocker arm shaft on the cylinder
head from flywheel side.
Install rocker arms and spacer.
(3)
Position piston at top dead center and
adjust tappet clearance.
-[NOTES]
Tappet clearance must be measured with
engine cold.

:
0.085-0.1

Tighten adjusting nuts firmly.
Check operation of values
by
turning crank-
shaft.
Remeasure tappet clearance.
(4) Install rocker cover and gasket.
