Programming Ethernet Motors
When a new Ethernet MagneMover LITE motor is installed, either as part of a new system
installation or as a replacement for an existing motor it must be programmed with the appro-
priate Motor ERF Image file (motor_image.erf).
NOTE: MagneMover LITE motors are shipped from the factory with just a basic motor soft-
ware image installed. They must be programmed with the software that is supplied
with the motors before use.
Required Tools and Equipment
• Computer with an Ethernet port and a web browser.
• Transport system MICS file.
• Motor ERF Image files.
Procedure
1. Revise the entry in the MICS file for the new motor (see Figure 19 and Table 15).
Do not change the <IP_addr> or <Track_location> elements for the motor.
• Update the <Mac_addr> element with the MAC address for the new motor.
• Update the <Orientation> element with the orientation for the new motor.
2. Upload the MICS file to all node controllers.
3. Cycle logic power to the new motor to force the motor to request its network provi-
sioning.
4. Upload the Motor ERF Image files (motor_image.erf) to each node controller by using
the node controller web interface and program the motor masters and slaves. See the
Node Controller Interface User Manual for details.
NOTE: Restart the node controller for the changes to take effect.
5. Reset the Paths where the motors were programmed (use the host controller or the
NCHost TCP Interface Utility, see the NCHost TCP Interface Utility User Manual for
details).
