5. Remove the threshold and apply three rows of
Bostic Chem Caulk the full length of the door
between the pencil lines as shown in Detail B.
6. Replace the threshold between the pencil lines
and firmly press into place. Carefully apply
pressure to the threshold to ensure the Bostic
Chem Caluk spreads uniformly.
7. Inspect the threshold to make sure it is still
between the pencil lines. The position can
slightly be adjusted for a short period of time.
8. Mark with a white grease pencil 1" from each edge and 10" o.c. along the length for the locations for the
Tapcons.
9. With Hammer Drill and
3/16" x 4 ½" Tapcon
bit, drill a hole through
the threshold into the
concrete. Drill hole ¼"
deeper than total
embedment of Tapcon.
See Details C and D.
10. With cordless drill, drive Tapcon into concrete being careful to not over tighten to the point that the Tapcon
spins freely in the concrete, but tight enough so head is firmly seated in the rubber threshold.
NOTE: Allow at least 24 hours for BOSTIC Chem Caulk to dry before driving over.
