Check the rim tape for damage.
The rim tape must be replaced when
• the rim tape is coming off of the rims.
• the print is coming off and the material
underneath is visible.
• there is significant inwards buckling
around the spoke holes and lots of wrin-
kles in the rim tape.

Check the spoke tension and whether it is
running or showing wear, if necessary true
the wheel(s).

Tyres
Check tyres. X *
Shifting /
drive unit
Check the wear of the chain with a chain
wear indicator.
→ The chain needs replacing when the
chain wear indicator measurements
indicates the maximum permitted
stretch.
The chainrings and the cassette should
also be replaced when replacing the
second chain.
