Operation on the pump control panel
6.4.2 Engage and disengage the pump
Engage pump
► Stop the vehicle.
► Shift gear into neutral.
► Apply parking brake.
► Let engine idle.
► Actuate function switch Pump station start .
The pump engagement procedure is done as following:
• The pump power take off is engaged.
Temporarily disengaging the pump
► Reduce pump pressure.
► Let engine idle.
► Close pressure outlets.
► Disengage the pump.
Refer to chapter "Disengage pump".
Disconnect the suction hoses before releasing the pressure from the riser
pipes. The maximum pressure for suction hoses is 3 bar (43 psi).
Disengage pump
WARNING!
Danger of fatal or serious injury for fire fighters by disengaging the
pump!
The function switch Pump station stop leads to an immediate stop of the
entire pump system. Fire fighters who are still in the building can be injured
fatal or serious at accidentally actuation of the function switch.
Actuate function switch Pump station stop only at the end of the
operation.
► Reduce pump pressure.
► Let engine idle.
► Actuate function switch Pump station stop.
Pump is disengaged.
All valves are switched back to starting position.
► Disconnect pressure and suction hoses.
► Drain entire pump system.
