5.2 Checking the installation
conditions
5.2.1 Mounting position
Î Install the actuator housing with the set
point springs suspended downward in
horizontalpipelines(seesectionFig.6).
Î Install a strainer upstream of the regula-
tor(seesection5.4).
Î Makesurethedirectionofowmatches
the direction indicated by the arrow on
the body.
Î Install the regulator free of stress.
Î Make sure that the regulator remains
freely accessible after the plant has been
completed.
Damage due to freezing.
Protect the regulator from icing up when con-
trolling media that can freeze. Remove the
regulator from the pipeline when the plant is
shut down if the regulator is not installed ar-
eas free from frost.
Do not attach supports directly to the valve
or actuator.

Do not install any instruments (e.g. tempera-
ture regulators or shut-off valves) that restrict
the cross-section of the pipe between the
pressure tapping point and the valve.
Standard mounting position
For gases, liquids and steam
Alternative mounting position
for gases and liquids at
medium temperature up to
80°C.
Not for steam.
Alternative mounting position
(DN32 to 100) for gases and
liquids at medium temperature
up to 80°C.
