Installation
If the control line connection is located below
themiddleofthevalveinletange,arrange
the compensation chamber at the same level
astheinletange.Inthiscase,useapipe
whichisatleast½“insizeforthecontrol
line from the tapping point to the compensa-
tion chamber.
If the control line is connected above the
middleofthevalveinletange,installthe
compensation chamber at the same level as
the upstream pressure tapping point. The ad-
ditional pressure of the condensate head
must be compensated for by adjusting the set
point.
5.3.4 Needle valve
If the regulator tends to hunt, we recommend
installing a needle valve at the control line
connection (16) in addition to the standard
SAMSON screw joint with restriction.
5.4 Additional ttings
5.4.1 Strainer
Astrainerinstalledupstreamintheowpipe
holds back any dirt or other foreign particles
carriedalongbythemedium.Forexample,
theSAMSONType2NIStrainerissuitable
(uT1015).
The following points must be observed
during installation of the strainer:
– Install the strainer upstream of the
Type41-73Regulator.
– Do not use the strainer to permanently
ltertheprocessmedium.
– Selectastrainer(meshsize)suitablefor
the process medium.
– Allowsufcientspacetoremovethelter.
– Observetheowdirection.
– Inhorizontalpipelines,thelterelement
faces downward.
– Install strainers in vertical pipelines with
themediumowingupwardwiththe
drain plug facing upward.
Check the strainer at regular intervals and
clean it, if necessary.
