Trouble
and
repair
When
you
experience
one
of
phenomena
described
below,
chances
are
that
the
trouble
may
easily
be
righted.
So
we
suggest
that
you
check
connections
and
operating
procedures
again.
If
no
sound
comes
from
speakers:
*
Are
the
cartridge,
turntable,
amplifier,
speakers,
etc.
correctly
connected
?
Are
ali
the
controls
on
the
amplifier,
input
selector
switch,
tape
monitor
switch,
speaker
selection
switch,
etc.
turned
to
the
correct
position?
If
no
sound
comes
from
one
of
speakers:
*
Are
the
cartridge,
turntable,
amplifier,
speakers,
etc.
correctly
connected?
Is
the
balance
control
on
the
amplifier
set
at
a
center
or
near-center
position?
*
If
reproduction
quality
is
poor:
Is
the
turntable
truly
horizontal?
Is
the
turntable
placed
atop
a
speaker
system?
(It
should
not
be.
Refer
to
the
section
titled
‘‘Howling’’
in
this
brochure.)
Are
the
stylus
tip
and
the
record
free
of
dirt
and
dust?
Is
the
correct
tracking
force
applied?
How
about
antiskating
adjust-
ment?

If
booming
hum
is
audible:
Is
the
unit’s
grounding
cable
correctly
connected
to
the
amp’s
GND
terminal?
ls
the
cartridge
correctly
connected?
Are
there
electric
appliances
in
operation
near
the
unit?
(There
should
not
be.
