How do I make changes to my packages and theme
packages?
You can make programming changes to your Max service by
calling 1-800-SASKTEL (727-5835) and select option 1 for
residential customers or option 2 for business customers.
Are customers notified when there is a channel/package
change?
Yes, when there are changes made to channels/packages,
information is posted on the Max Home Page in ‘What’s New’
and/or the centre box.
Does SaskTel anticipate adding to current packages or
switching the theme packages around?
As new channels become available to SaskTel, DIV-Marketing
decides on which channels fit the Saskatchewan market and how or
where the channels will be packaged.
What is the charge if I wanted to add another set-top box to
my arrangement at home?
The monthly rental charge for additional set-top boxes is
$2.95/month. If you need to have another set-top box installed, at
a later date, installation charges may apply. Please call 1-800-
SASKTEL (727-5835) and select option 1 for residential customers
or option 2 for business customers for more information.
What happens if my TV that is connected to Max breaks and
then I buy a new TV? Do I need an installer to come out
and connect the service to the new TV?
No, you do not require an installer to go out to your residence and
install the set-top box on your new TV. If you are not sure what to
do, call 1-800-773-2121. The dealer/electronics store may also
provide basic hook-up information for you.
DIGITAL TELEVISION
Will there be a paper TV guide mailed out to customers?
No, there is not a paper TV guide that will be mailed out, but your
local newspaper might be including Max listings very soon. Also,
Max TV listings are now online. Look in the entertainment section
of mysask.com on your computer (PC) and enter in your postal
code. You can print the listings, search for your favourite shows,
movies and sporting events and customize the listings with your
favourite channels.
Can I use picture in picture (PIP) with Max?
No, picture in picture (PIP) is a function of the TV and not a
function of the set-top box. The set-top box will only display 1
channel at a time.
Do customers get their local TV/Radio channels?
Yes, customers in a Max serving area will receive all their local
TV/Radio channels.
Why doesn’t SaskTel’s Max offer more U.S. programming,
such as ESPN and HBO?
SaskTel carries the best programming that is allowed in Canada.
Channels such as ESPN and HBO are not allowed by the CRTC to be
carried by Canadian television service providers like SaskTel.
Can a virus affect my TV?
The Max signal carried over the telephone line can in no way alter
or affect a customer’s TV or set-top box. Therefore, a virus sent
through someone’s PC cannot affect your TV or set-top box.
