ADMIN CONTROL
Can I block out certain TV channels or TV Program Ratings?
Yes, you can block out certain TV channels and TV Program
Ratings. From the Max Home Page, select the ‘Help’ option. From
this screen choose the Max Manual’ option and then ‘Blocking /
Unblocking Channels’ or ‘Block by Rating'. These directions will help
you to block certain channels or shows by way of a password.
Can I block Internet web sites on my TV?
Unfortunately, you cannot block web sites using Max service.
I block by TV rating, but some shows that should be blocked
aren’t. Why?
It is because some shows do not have a rating attached onto them.
Can I change my passwords?
Yes, passwords are changed through your TV at home. This is done
in the ‘Admin Control’ option on the Max Home Page. From Admin
Control, choose the ‘Maintain Passwords’ option. Then choose
which password you wish to change. We advise against setting
your password as an easily decoded set of numbers such as 3333
or 1234.
What if I forget my password(s)?
Call SaskTel at 1-800-773-2121.
MUSIC
Can I access Music channels?
Yes, you can access Music channels. There are 31 Saskatchewan
AM/FM Radio Stations and 30 Galaxie Music Channels.
If I am in one city (i.e. Regina), can I listen to radio stations
in another city (i.e. Saskatoon)?
Yes, you can listen to radio stations in another city, as long as the
city offers Max service.
Why don’t I see anything on my screen when I watch a
radio station channel?
You won’t see anything on the screen of radio station channels
because they are audio channels only. Therefore, no visual feeds
are put through to your TV. You will see the information banner
when you first enter the channel or if you press the “Info” button.
EQUIPMENT
Can more than one television set share the same set-top
box?
Two televisions can share the same set-top box by using a splitter,
however both televisions would display the same thing. In addition,
the channel can only be changed at the set-top box unless you
purchase a remote control extender. This is not included as part of
the Max install and is not supported by SaskTel. If a trouble is
found and is due to this arrangement, the customer will be charged
the Custom Work Rates of $89/hr.
Does it matter what type of TV I use?
If you remain at the same viewing distance, you will notice a
difference between a normal size TV and a big screen TV. As the
screen gets larger, you should sit farther back from the TV in order
to avoid seeing pixels. Also, it is recommended that you hook up a
big screen television using S-video cable or Audio/Video cables
versus Coaxial cable. To avoid a "burnt-in" image, the TV should
not be left on any menu screen for an extended period of time.
