Amdt.1 - 03 November 2009 Operator’s Manual 20
OIL LEVEL
1.
The level of the oil in the pump’s crankcase should be checked on
a regular basis (See “RECOMMENDED OPERATOR’S ROUTINE
MAINTENANCE” on page 21.)and topped up as necessary via the
combined filler cap/dipstick on the top of the pump body (Fig. 8).
DRAINING
1. It
is vital that the pump is drained of all water whenever the
ambient temperature is expected to fall to 0°C or below. If the
pump is allowed to freeze it is likely that damage will be incurred
resulting in seizure.
2. Drai
n the water tank (see the maintenance schedule on Page 21),
3. To
drain the high-pressure side of the pump, open the ball valve
(blue lever).
4. To
drain the low-pressure side of the pump, open the primer valve
(plated lever).
PRIMING
1.
When restarting the high-pressure pump after draining the circuit it
is recommended that the pump is primed
as follows:
(a) Ens
ure that the water tank has been filled
(b) Open the
primer valve (plated lever).
(c)
Start the auxiliary engine and then press the
ON/STAND-BY switch to activate the main
co
ntrol panel.
(d) Sta
rt the High-pressure Pump. Engine speed
will automatically increase to 1600 rpm.
(e) As s
oon as a steady stream of water is flowing from the primer
valve, close the valve. The system is now primed and ready for
use. Test the system by operating one of the high-pressure water
appliances.
