MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
– Check the grease level inside the worm gear transmission housing.
– If grease level is below the edge of the gear housing, add Lithium #1 grease.
– The XP tiller has a grease tting located opposite the transmission cover.
– Remove the protective cap from the grease tting, attach the grease gun, and slowly add grease until the level is ush with the
edge of the transmission housing.
– Pay attention to the size of the grease gun. Different guns distribute different amounts of grease per pump. No more than 0.06 oz
(two pumps from a 14-ounce grease gun cartridge) should be added through the grease tting. Additional grease can be added
as needed through the opening left by removing the housing cover.
– Wipe off excess grease and replace the transmission gasket and housing cover.
– Return the grease tting protective cover.
– Replace tines.
