Check the condition of the governor rope. The rope must be replaced if:
– 6 or more broken wires are found in one lay
– 3 or more broken wires are found in one strand of one lay of rope (X).
– The rope is showing signs of red dust or rust, or is damaged or disfigured in
any way
– The diameter of the rope has reduced by more than the rope
manufacturers recommended limit (usually 5 ... 10 %).
